I believe that cooking is at the heart of health. That food is meant to nourish and not just to quiet a hunger. That everyone has the ability to acquire food confidence in order to achieve their optimal health. These values serve as guidance when helping my clients achieve their health goals, whether it is to lose weight, improve lab values or to manage or prevent disease. Because everyone has unique nutritional needs I use an individualized approach to treating the person as a whole. Let me show you that heathy eating is easy and delicious. I offer individual appointments, cooking classes and demos, and group presentations in the Charleston area. I also offer web-based appointments to those outside of Charleston.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
I provide medical nutrition therapy to Charleston patients on a referral basis through Palmetto Dietetics. If you’re not in Charleston or have limited time and transportation, I also provide web based counseling using a HIPAA compliant platform. I am a provider of Blue Cross Blue Shield; if you would like your visit to be covered by insurance, I will need your physician to send me a referral form. Please keep in mind that your insurance may not cover your nutrition visit; be sure to contact your insurance company to determine what services they cover.
Nutrition Analysis with Recommendations
Ever wonder how healthy you really eat? Let’s take a look! I’ll send you forms to track your typical dietary habits over the course of 1 week and then analyze them for a detailed nutrition report. You will also receive recommendations on how to improve your diet.
It’s no secret that I love to cook. So let me show you how to create simple, delicious and nutritious meals in person. These demos are available to individuals, families and groups.
Great for individuals and families looking to eat healthier and save a little money by cooking meals at home. Let’s go through your kitchen and create a more functional environment to foster healthy eating. Next, I can help you build a grocery list and then better navigate the grocery store to avoid those deceiving health claims. Lastly, let’s end the session with a little cooking.
